What Did Legalifi Change?

It would not be wrong to say that today there is almost no one in the sector who has not heard of the concept of legal technologies. In this article, we will focus on the concept of legal technologies, which has increasingly become a topic of discussion and around which more events have recently begun to be organized, as well as on what we have done and what we plan to do at Legalifi, which can also be considered a legal technology product.

First of all, legal technology can generally be defined as the use of software, artificial intelligence (AI), and other technological tools to automate, facilitate, and improve the delivery of legal services, the functioning of the justice system, and the management of law firms.

Today, it is possible to say that this field, which is becoming increasingly well known among companies, governments, and international organizations, is being used for different purposes and in different areas. In addition to software that enables legislation and case-law research, we are seeing a growing number of legal technology products and services that digitize office management.

Regulatory Technology

Regulatory technology (RegTech) is a set of solutions that optimize the compliance, reporting, risk management, and audit processes of companies subject to regulation, particularly financial institutions, through the use of next-generation technologies such as artificial intelligence, Big Data, cloud computing, and blockchain.

RegTech transforms legal texts and compliance rules into machine-readable code, turning companies’ compliance with laws from a “burden” into an autonomous process.

In Türkiye’s official strategy documents and development plans, RegTech is positioned as a critical infrastructure that reduces compliance costs by automating customer identity verification (KYC) and anti-money laundering (AML) processes, while increasing the reliability and processability of data in reporting processes.

RegTech products are generally B2B (business-to-business) systems. They can be actively used in many different areas, including KYC (Know Your Customer), AML (Anti-Money Laundering), Transaction Monitoring, Legislation and Compliance Management, Regulatory Reporting, and Risk Analytics and Management.

Legalifi can fundamentally be considered a RegTech initiative under the category of legislation and compliance management (Compliance Management).

As stated on our website, it is clear that modern organizations need a new approach to compliance. Legalifi is a continuous compliance operating system that helps you stay ahead of regulations and remain prepared for upcoming new regulations.

With a mission to become the infrastructure of regulatory compliance and enable organizations to manage their legal obligations as structured and scalable systems, Legalifi works with a multidisciplinary team consisting of members from different engineering disciplines as well as lawyers with expertise in the field.

As our founder, Elif Hilal Kara, stated in her blog post, when we founded Legalifi, we were actually pursuing a dream: How can we bring the deeply rooted and unwavering discipline of law together at the same table with the practical and precise world of engineering? We call the answer “Legal Engineering.”

We are currently continuing our compliance work on KVKK, GDPR, and MiCA. At Legalifi, we offer our services in three different packages for institutions and companies that wish to benefit from our solutions.

So far, as Legalifi, we have accomplished the following in our work:

  • Categories, processing purposes, data recipients, and security measures are managed in a way that is linked to all processes, draggable, and exportable.
  • We track changes under KVKK, GDPR, MiCA, and the EU Artificial Intelligence Act; we identify updates that actually affect your inventory, processes, and legal texts, while providing one-click approval and direct access to the areas that need to be updated.
  • It scans regulations around the world in real time. It does not simply say, “A new law has been enacted.” It warns you by saying, “This new regulation directly affects data category number 4 in your system and Article 5 of your agreement with Company X; you may need to revise them.” When a critical change occurs, it reaches you via email or instant notification. In other words, you do not have to chase regulations; the moment a regulation is updated, you are informed.

In particular, our artificial intelligence assistant uses advanced natural language processing techniques to analyze your documents, compare them with your inventory, and match them with your privacy notices. However, most AI recommendations require human approval before they are saved, which prevents autonomous decisions and increases the accuracy and reliability of the outputs. It is worth keeping in mind that the AI assistant may access your data in order to provide you with a better experience; however, if you have sensitive data, you can disable this feature.

  • Standardized audit frameworks
  • AI-powered compliance workflows
  • Centralized documentation and tracking
  • Automated reporting and analytics
  • Designed for real-world regulatory environments

Finally, we would like to summarize why you should choose Legalifi as follows:

  • Faster Audits: Shortens audit time by up to 10 times
  • Standardization: Organization-wide compliance
  • AI-Powered: Intelligent recommendations and support
  • Secure by Design: Designed for sensitive data environments
  • Scalable: Adaptable to multiple regulations

CONCLUSION

As the Legalifi family, managed by an expert team consisting of both engineers and lawyers, we continue our efforts to help you carry out your activities in the digital world in a more sustainable manner and in compliance with legal requirements.
